Six months after launch, Daimler North America has more than 21,000 orders

According to Quality Quarterly, through June 30th, Daimler North America reported  more than 21,400 orders for vehicles that meet the 2010 U.S. Environmental Protection Agencty Standards for emissions. These vehicles include  sales to major fleets, school buses and truck leasing companies. The orders include more than 16,565 Freightliner brand vehicles.

Thomas Built Buses, based in High Point, North Carolina, has written orders for hundred of Saf-T-Liner School buses featuring SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction). SCR engines are designed to meet all EPA 2010 emissions standards. In road testing, SCR has been shown to provide up to 5% better fuel economy over similarly spec'ed EPA 2007 engines.
