Matthews Buses, Inc. recieved the largest single bus school district order to date (108) in its 45 year history from Orange County Public Schools on November 1, 2011.The order consists of 20 (65 Passenger) Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses equipped with wheelchair accessibility and 88 (77 passenger) Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses. TEAM Matthews was chosen over the competition after submitting a Request For Information (RFI), whereby we were required to answer questions from the following 8 categories:

• Warranty
• Service
• Training
• References
• Fuel Costs
• Tooling Costs
• Parts
• Emissions

This order represents a lot of hard work on behalf of our Orlando based staff. When we received the order we brought all of our employees into our conference room and shared the great news with them. Within the 8 categories, we responded with details concerning our unique way of servicing districts via mobile service to provide warranty service and recalls so that the customer does not have to spend time and money traveling to us. We also highlighted our in house training advantages and responded with over 31 local county school district references who have been experiencing the Matthews Service Advantage. We provided several ACTUAL FL School District ECM Data highlighting fuel mileage and DEF usage for comparison purposes. We were also able to highlight the emission advantages of the 2010 Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 with the Cummins Engine utizling DEF.
