Established in 1950 in the Central New York Village of Waterloo, the Waterloo Central School District oversees 5 schools from pre-K through High School. Eileen Temple, Supervisor of Transportation, started working for the Waterloo Central School District in the cafeteria in 1990. In 1992 she started driving as a substitute driver, eventually becoming a full time school bus driver in 1994. She was promoted to supervisor in 2002.
Her experience as a driver has given her the insight to determine what's best for her drivers and their student passengers. She recently added two brand new Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2s with a third featuring a Wheel Chair lift to follow to the fleet of thirty-two Thomas Built buses. It's one of the reasons that the Waterloo Central School District has been averaging around 10 miles to the gallon.
When asked why she chose to work with Matthews Buses and the Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2, Eileen said "The customer service is wonderful, call back is very timely. Any issues have always been resolved immediately." And the bus?
"Bus is top of the line."
