TEAM Matthews will be celebrating the Grand Opening of our new facility located at 4802 West Colonial Drive, in Orlando, FL, as well as our 45th Anniversary, on April 4, 2012.
There will be representatives from Thomas Built Buses, Cummins Engine, Detroit Diesel Allison, Seon Camera, Braun Lift, Rifled Air Conditioning and others in attendance.
After seeing the Thomas product represented for several years at the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools Conference (FACCS), where we provide the complimentary shuttle for the attendees, the staff of Evangelical Christian School made the commitment to purchase the needed bus if we were represented again.
Matthews Buses, Orlando, recently expanded its' Road Service Fleet in order to accommodate the needs of our ever expanding customer base with a pair of brand new Freightliner sprinter vans. Manning the sprinters, are the two newest members of our team service technicians, Cody Mock and Anthony Metcalfe. They bring years of experience and a vast array of knowledge.
Matthews Buses, Inc. recieved the largest single bus school district order to date (108) in its 45 year history from Orange County Public Schools on November 1, 2011.The order consists of 20 (65 Passenger) Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses equipped with wheelchair accessibility and 88 (77 passenger) Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses.
School Bus Fleet gave its 38th annual Administrator of the Year award to Mike Connors of Brevard Public Schools. Mike Connors is the Director of Transportation for the Brevard County School District - one of the largest counties in the nation - overseeing a transportation department staffed with over 500 employees and delivering students to and from school with more than 400 route buses.

Established in 1950 in the Central New York Village of Waterloo, the Waterloo Central School District oversees 5 schools from pre-K through High School. Eileen Temple, Supervisor of Transportation, started working for the Waterloo Central School District in the cafeteria in 1990. In 1992 she started driving as a substitute driver, eventually becoming a full time school bus driver in 1994.

Big Bend, Wisconsin native, Paul Stender grew up racing motorcycles and snowmobiles. The former Outlaw Sprint Car Driver and 1997 Pro-Jet Rookie of the year also spent time racing Badger and USAC Midgets. Eventually his love for speed led him to Jet power cars.
